Are you ready for some amazing foggy, rainy, Olympic Mountain size magic? I think I’ve had more requests for this blog post than any other. So madly in love with this session and I absolutely adore these two. Travis and Allie are one of my couples that opted to do their wedding portraits the day after the wedding. I have a lot of clients choosing this option so that they get more time on their wedding day to spend with friends and family. Best of both worlds!
For Allie and Travis, we ventured up to my favorite mountain top in the Olympic Mountains behind Sequim, WA. The forecast called for sun, but the mountain is ever unpredictable, and it is WA after all. So when we got to the top we found rainy, icy, 36 degree conditions covered in the thickest layer of clouds and fog you have ever seen. Most people would be discouraged. Allie and I however basically squealed with joy and jumped out of the truck. Allie is a mountain girl at heart like me. She will gladly run around the slippery rocky outcroppings in a sheath dress and be as at home in that environment as the deer that wander those hills (If you couldn’t tell). Travis, as always, made some sarcastic joke and eventually followed along, ever willingly and joyously (sarcasm there…if you didn’t pick up on that). Although it was a bit of a challenge keeping gear dry and I had to manually focus quite often because of the conditions, I couldn’t have been happier. I included some of the behind the scenes shots as well! Mud and all!
